HOW TO MAINTAIN OIL-FREE SCREW COMPRESSOR

AIRPULL produces separator and filter for all major screw compressor brands since 1994.

Like all electrical and mechanical equipment, oil-free screw compressors require regular maintenance to operate at maximum efficiency and to minimize unplanned downtime. Improper maintenance will lead to low compression efficiency, air leakage, pressure change and other issues. All equipment in the compressed air system shall be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

Oil free screw compressor needs relatively less routine maintenance. With this type of compressor, the microprocessor control panel is responsible for monitoring the status of the air and lubricating oil filters.

After conventional start-up, observe various control panel displays and local instruments to check whether normal readings are displayed. Use previous records to help determine if the current measurement is within normal range. These observations should be made under all expected operating modes (i.e. full load, no load, different line pressures and cooling water temperatures).

The following items shall be checked every 3000 hours:

• Check / replace lubricating oil filling and filter elements.

• Check / replace air filter elements.

• Check / replace sump vent filter elements.

• Check / clean the control line filter element.

• Check / clean condensate drain valve.

• Check the condition of coupling elements and the tightness of fasteners.

• Measure and record vibration signals on compressor, gearbox and motor.

• It is generally recommended to rebuild the air inlet every year.
